Olivia Rodrigo has shared a David Byrne cover of Drivers License to mark its fifth anniversary.
The Good 4 U hitmaker’s debut studio album, SOUR, is reaching the milestone this May, and to celebrate, Olivia has recruited her “favourite artists ever†to reimagine some of the tracks from the LP, including the Talking Heads frontman, who has put his spin on the hit lead single.
Olivia, 22, previously teamed up with David, 73, to perform the rock group’s 1983 classic Burning Down the House at the 2025 Governors Ball, and the duet is the B-side to David’s cover on a special edition 7′ vinyl, which is available to pre-order now from Olivia’s official store.
She shared on Instagram: “SOUR is turning 5 years old this year! and to celebrate, i’m so excited to announce an upcoming series of reimagined SOUR covers from some of my favorite artists ever. we’re starting off insanely strong with an incredible reworking of ‘drivers license’ from one of my all-time heroes, David Byrne. David is nothing short of a legend and I actually cried when I heard his version of this song. Marking the milestone, Olivia reflected: “happy 5 years of drivers license!!! looking back at these pics I feel like I look like a baby but it also feels like just yesterday lol. this song has totally changed my life in ways I still can’t totally wrap my head around.
