Music News: Poison Cancels 40th Anniversary Show
Poisonâs Rikki Rickett has revealed that the bandâs 2026 tour plans are ânot possibleâ after all.
The drummer shared that the reason behind the band abandoning plans to hit the road is that singer Bret Michaels wanted âthe lionâs shareâ of the money.
âWe had a great offer, I thought,â Rockett told Page Six.Â
âBut we left the table. It didnât work. Really, what it came to was CC (guitarist CC DeVille) and Bobby (bassist Bobby Dall), and I were all in, and I thought Bret was, but he wanted the lionâs share of the money, to the point where it makes it not possible to even do it.Â
He went on to share that Michaels had requested $6 âto every one of our dollarsâ.Â
Poison last toured in 2022, with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, on a huge stadium run. When it wrapped, Michaels went back to his solo band, which plays a show consisting almost entirely of Poison hits.Â
In September 2024, Michaels teased his future plans in an open letter to fans.
âIn 2026, Iâm excited to say it will be Poisonâs 40th anniversary since the release of Look What The Cat Dragged In in 1986, so it would make perfect sense to have the possibility of a reunion in 2026,â he wrote.Â
âIn my opinion, it would be the perfect 40th Anniversary Tour, with 40 awesome limited dates to go out, play real live hit songs, and rock the world.â
