Hello, Friends!
This weekend, my heart is especially with those of you, like myself, who are awaiting this new winter storm called Fern. I'm praying you all will be safe and warm as the bitter cold settles in once again and this intense storm moves across the U.S.
Weâre expecting heavy snow and strong winds here at our home in the Midwest, and I know many of you may also be in the stormâs path. If you have power over the weekend, please leave us a note in the comments and let us know how youâre doing.
I'm praying for those who must work in these tough conditions, travel on the roads, and especially those who will be dealing with ice. My family and I once went through a severe ice storm that left us without power for over a week. It was challenging, but we were grateful for our fireplace to keep us warm, and since the temps were very low, we used a cooler outside for our cold foods. We all pulled together, and in many ways, it became a special time Iâll always cherish. I pray that each of you is able to stay warm, safe, and cozy indoors throughout the weekend.
It's one of those weekends that's ideal for reading a good book, playing board games, or watching movies, of course! I've included some suggestions for movie-watching below, including Hallmark's new Winter Escape and some wonderful classics from Great American Family and all three Hallmark channels.
See details below...

Merry *Mark the 25th!*
as we Countdown to Christmas!

This Sunday will mark *ONE MONTH* since Christmas and 11 months until Christmas 2026!!!
If I have power, I'm planning to watch a Christmas movie to celebrate the day. It will probably be one of the new ones from Christmas 2025 that I haven't seen, but I havenât decided which one yet, so I'll have to let you know. Perhaps, Single on the 25th, Oy to the World!, or Christmas in Big Sky Country??? If you've seen them, which one would you choose?
And... if you're planning to watch a Christmas movie too, and already have one in mind, please share in comments.
However, if you're not sure and need a movie recommendation, I have a great one for you...

I recently streamed âChristmas Rosesâ (free on YouTube), and I have to say... it is absolutely beautiful!!! Misty and Lizzy both shared such positive reviews of this film, so I decided to give it a watch, and Iâm so glad I did! This movie is truly heartwarming and wonderfully unique, one of those rare stories that draws you into every scene, entertains, and touches the heart!
The young girl in this film, Olive, is absolutely spectacular! Her performance is so adorable, inspiring, and moving. She's a true scene-stealer!
Plus, you'll likely recognize the two leads, Casey Elliott and Stacey Ann Turner, from âDestined at Christmas.â
A small note of caution for young viewers: there is mention of the death of a father/parents, and a young girl travels a long distance on her own without permission or supervision. (I don't want young children to get the idea that it is safe to do that.) Aside from those issues, this is a lovely, meaningful film that I think many of you will fall in love with - just as I did!
This movie is a beautiful reminder that even in the midst of lifeâs hardships, God's love is always faithful.
