Meghan Trainor Addresses Weight Loss Surgery
Meghan Trainor has spoken out against the haters who have âattackedâ her new appearance following her weight-loss journey.
The All About That Bass singer revealed earlier this year that she had undergone breast augmentation surgery and lost 60 pounds (27 kilograms) using the weight-loss drug Mounjaro.Â
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Meghan admitted the negative comments about her new appearance are âgetting louderâ, but sheâs ânever felt betterâ.Â
âIâm literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and Iâve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great,â she insisted. âAnd thatâs when people attack me.â
The 31-year-old, who has two sons with actor husband Daryl Sabara, noted that sheâs trying to block out the backlash because she knows sheâs prioritising her health.Â
The Lips Are Movinâ singer candidly revealed in March that she was taking Type 2 diabetes medication Mounjaro as a weight loss drug. She later explained that she started taking the injections, working with a dietician and trainer, after giving birth to her second child in July 2023.Â
Meghan has used her backlash as fuel for her songwriting, as she sings about her experience with body-shaming on her new single, Still Donât Care.Â
âPeople started commenting about my body, saying Iâm too thin, and that they donât recognise me anymore. And I was like, âOh, Iâve just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that Iâve never felt better.â So, I was confused and sad and was like, âOh, itâs almost worse now.â I donât know what happened,â she told People.Â
âI liked the idea of⦠âLet me think about it one more time. Nope, I still donât care.â And I know that when I start singing it, itâll be my therapy, my exposure therapy.â
