Hello August!
As the sun continues to shine brightly, and the long summer days stretch out before us, we enthusiastically welcome the month of August. The dog days of summer are upon us, bringing with them a blend of non-stop sunshine, warm nights, and plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. While the heat may feel intense at times, it's the perfect opportunity to make the most of summer movie nights, relish the lingering spirit of Christmas in July, and dive into a world of mystery that awaits us.
Summer Movie Nights Begin
As the sun sets and the stars begin to twinkle in the clear August sky, the perfect setting for a summer movie night under the stars is created. Whether it's in your backyard, at a local park, or at a drive-in theater, summer movie nights are a staple of the season.
In this digital age, itâs incredibly easy to set up a movie night at home with a projector and a white sheet. Fill your lawn with blankets, pillows, and your favorite snacks, and you're all set for a cozy outdoor cinema experience.
If you prefer a more traditional approach, drive-in theaters are making a massive comeback, offering a nostalgic and safe way to enjoy new releases or cult classics.
So, grab your popcorn, sit back, relax, and let the silver screen transport you to other worlds under the canopy of the night sky.
Christmas in July Lingers

Mystery Awaits
August is also a time of mystery and adventure. The long summer days are perfect for diving into a gripping mystery novel. Whether you prefer the tried-and-true classics like Agatha Christie or the contemporary thrillers from authors like Gillian Flynn, there's a mystery out there for everyone.
If you're more of an adventurer, why not turn your local surroundings into a mystery to be solved? Try exploring new hiking trails, local landmarks, or hidden gems in your town. Who knows what you might discover?

Just a quick thought (or two!) on the NEW Weekend Movies...

Okay, I must say... the old-fashioned images/promos Hallmark has released for the new 3-part movie series, Providence Falls, look absolutely beautiful. There's a dreamy, romantic feel to them that really draws you in. That said, I did notice the word "reincarnated" in the story synopsis, which gives me pause. As a Christian, I personally donât believe in reincarnation. Hebrews 9:27 says, âAnd just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,â which clearly shapes my view on this topic.
So, Iâm curious... does one (or more) of the characters actually experience reincarnation in this story, or is the term being used more loosely, perhaps to describe time travel or some other kind of connection across time? I'm personally game for a fun time-travel film like Back to the Future or A Biltmore Christmas, etc... but if the story is, indeed, centered around reincarnation, then dreamy or not, I'm out.

NOTE: Due to the suspenseful nature of this Lifetime film, Terri Blackstockâs If I Run, I expect the movie to have violence, adult dialogue, and content not suitable for young viewers. Discretion is advised.

Thought it would be fun to note... There are several familiar faces in the new Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Death at the Diner - including Kimberly Sustad (The Nine Lives of Christmas), Steve Bacic and Sarah Strange (Garage Sale Mystery), and Caitlin Stryker (Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker).
Also, be sure to note the time change for this premiere. The movie will air at 9pm/8c, which is different than what the poster says above.

Are you planning to catch any of the new movies this weekend? Please share in the comments below... Iâd love to hear what youâre planning to watch! Iâve got some family plans, so Iâll likely need to record the premieres and catch up later. Still, Iâm hoping to sneak in a few of the wonderful Christmas movies airing this weekend, especially since itâs the final chance to see *Christmas in July* on Great American Family!
Blessings to you all,
Net
SHINING HIS LIGHT:
"Let the name of the Lord be praised,
both now and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Lord is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens."
