1:51 | that I feel is meaningful

1:58 | to know that I'm a part of a piece of

2:02 | art that people love it's a pretty

2:11 | I'm very proud to have been a part of

2:19 | I love that kids are watching it I

2:21 | absolutely love that I hear about like

2:24 | nine year olds watching it with their

2:25 | parents and look I have to watch a lot

2:29 | of kids shows too some of them are

2:30 | brutal okay it's really nice to have a

2:33 | piece of art or something on the

2:35 | television that both the parents and the

2:36 | kids like I get especially jazzed when I

2:40 | hear that kids are watching it because I

2:42 | like all of these sort of hidden

2:45 | messages these just things are sliding

2:48 | into your DMS you don't even know it

2:49 | about what it means to be kind why why

2:53 | do we need to be kind how are we

2:55 | supposed to share this place together

2:56 | how do my actions affect you and it's it

3:01 | is presented in such a goofy silly

3:05 | digestible way I think that's what makes

3:08 | it appealing to everyone it's also you

3:10 | know a bright world there's a lot of you

3:13 | know stupid big set-piece jokes like we

3:17 | filled that entire fountain with clam

3:19 | chowder like I don't know if you could

3:22 | tell me another show that's even come

3:23 | close to a weird prop like that

3:27 | one of my favorite feelings on planet

3:29 | Earth is to watch people celebrate

3:32 | celebrating things it's why I love rabid

3:37 | it's why I'm one of them it's why I have

3:38 | costume parties for my favorite shows so

3:40 | when I see people dressing as our

3:42 | characters are putting the concept of

3:44 | envy on their hot sauce bottles or

3:46 | anything from our show it reminds me

3:49 | that we were a part of something that

3:52 | reminded other human beings of a

3:54 | commonality we were a part of something

3:57 | that brought people together and it's

4:01 | just a really profound and special

4:03 | feeling

4:07 | we kind of proved it at the end of last

4:09 | season that family bonds love caring for

4:13 | people caring for each other is very

4:15 | powerful

4:20 | and is so

4:24 | emotionally-charged and so loving the

4:27 | end of last season this season takes

4:32 | that and just runs with it the emotional

4:37 | connection and what it means to truly

4:39 | love and be loved

4:45 | you I promise you will not be

4:47 | disappointed I am so sorry I can't give

4:49 | it away there's more visual magic going

4:51 | on we have special effects that are just

4:53 | blowing our our minds yeah you will you

4:58 | we do not vamp we do not you know we are

5:10 | we have wonderful guest stars wonderful

5:13 | group of actors yeah it's really

5:15 | wonderful

5:19 | the bad place is very active trying to

5:22 | sabotage our experiment so we're

5:25 | constantly having to deal with new

5:28 | releve revelations we have to you know

5:31 | bob and weave to stay ahead of the bad

5:33 | guys

5:39 | the good place got a phone call from

5:40 | Mike sure

5:42 | I think maybe the second or third

5:45 | episode that we were shooting and he

5:50 | said that this will be the final season

5:53 | because he had a story to tell about the

5:57 | universe and that story will have been

6:00 | told by the end of his season and and

6:02 | they did not want to Pat it they wanted

6:07 | it to be like it's always been you know

6:10 | this is what we want to say we're going

6:12 | to say it and then we're through kind of

6:15 | thing so it was it was startling to be

6:19 | canceled by yourself as it were but

6:22 | everyone had a huge amount of respect

6:24 | for it because it felt right

6:30 | can I tell you how happy I am to be

6:35 | shooting this final episode

6:37 | it feels so complete I think emotionally

6:41 | for the characters you will be so happy

6:43 | and for what it is saying you will be so

6:47 | satisfied and I wish we could talk after

6:55 | I love twelve-year-old kids coming up to

6:58 | me in airports and telling me how much

7:00 | they love the good place and I love that

7:03 | their parents are happy that they're

7:05 | watching it and they're watching it with

7:07 | them it's it's fun to be part of

7:10 | something that's about something you

7:12 | know it's about decency it's about what

7:16 | it means to lead a meaningful life a

7:18 | purposeful life and that there are

7:20 | consequences to our actions I like that

7:23 | that's a good thing to put out there and

7:25 | it's kind of bathed in this and

7:27 | disguised a nine year old fart humor and

7:30 | it's sprinkled with visual magic so it's

7:33 | you know enchanting but we are talking

7:35 | about good stuff

7:40 | so many surprises brand-new cast members

7:43 | an insane storyline and my gowns are

7:47 | pretty amazing as you can see

7:53 | I don't know if they will necessarily

7:55 | ever be another season one finale type

7:59 | twist but I don't think they need that

8:01 | the writing is so exceptional that they

8:04 | will still do things that are so

8:06 | unpredictable and and creative that it

8:08 | will blow your mind every week reading

8:10 | the scripts is just so exciting

8:15 | the reason I think this show is so

8:18 | successful and resonates with so many

8:20 | different people around the world all

8:21 | different ages and backgrounds is

8:23 | because it not only is it funny and it's

8:27 | smart and it's full of Ted Danson's face

8:30 | which I think in itself is enough this

8:32 | is a show about empathy and this is the

8:35 | show in which the central messaging of

8:37 | it is when people who are very different

8:39 | who don't like each other and they come

8:41 | from very different backgrounds put

8:42 | their differences aside and work

8:44 | together they can get to a better place

8:47 | and so I think that's a message that we

8:49 | all need right now more than ever and so

8:52 | I think it speaks to a lot of people I

8:54 | think a lot of people feel that way and

8:55 | want that but we just need our society

8:58 | to sort of catch up with us and again

9:00 | Ted Danson's in it need i say more

9:08 | our visual effects team have gone to

9:11 | such extremes this year it's so cool and

9:14 | it's really nice to be back where we can

9:16 | play fully with our imaginations and the

9:19 | writers can just come up with anything

9:20 | they feel like I mean some of the things

9:22 | that they're pulling off the season

9:23 | we're about to shoot an episode in two

9:25 | weeks that I can't tell you anything

9:26 | about but I can tell you it's going to

9:28 | be so visually stimulating I can't wait

9:34 | well I'm [Â __Â ] furious frankly that

9:36 | this is the final season of the good

9:37 | place but I also really understand a

9:40 | respect Mike's decision like we have

9:43 | created such an interesting and perfect

9:45 | arc and he's got too much class to milk

9:49 | that just for cash he like he knows when

9:52 | to leave the party and I I admire that

9:54 | and the journey feels complete this

9:57 | feels like the right place to say

9:58 | goodbye

10:00 | I'm gonna miss Ted very much i can't

10:04 | believenot them to spend summers with

10:05 | him any longer but I can't believe I had

10:07 | the chance to do this this was my first

10:09 | ever acting job this is my first ever

10:10 | audition this was my introduction to

10:12 | acting and I got to learn everything

10:15 | from Ted both as an actor on screen and

10:18 | off screen and so if I'm bad in this TV

10:22 | show it's because of Ted Danson and I'm

10:24 | sorry about that and he's sorry

10:31 | I think it's incredible and it's so cool

10:33 | that this is a network show it's like a

10:36 | big shiny Network show that has reached

10:38 | such maths critical success it just

10:41 | makes me feel very proud I

10:43 | I agree with the people not necessarily

10:47 | my performance but mostly just the fact

10:49 | that our writers are the best writers

10:51 | I've ever met

10:52 | and they're so annoyingly young and

10:55 | gifted and lovely

11:00 | I think that this is the coolest way we

11:03 | could have said goodbye to this show and

11:05 | said goodbye to our fans I don't think

11:07 | anyone's gonna see this ending coming I

11:08 | definitely didn't I was like it's gonna

11:10 | be a reality TV show in the end I was

11:13 | coming up with all sorts of stupid

11:14 | perfect airs and I didn't see this

11:16 | coming at all and it's gonna be so

11:18 | thought-provoking and it's so emotional

11:21 | it's so heartbreaking but it's a huge

11:25 | message about not taking things for

11:27 | granted and and how we measure our

11:29 | happiness that I think will really

11:30 | resonate across the world and I feel so

11:35 | sad to say goodbye to the show but I

11:36 | couldn't think of a classier way that he

11:38 | could have orchestrated this

11:42 | the good place is back for a brand-new

11:45 | season we're so excited season 4 get

11:48 | ready for it

11:51 | this season is an adventure like a major

11:53 | where we're at like on a on a wild ride

11:56 | like a roller coaster there's ups

11:58 | there's downs there's turns there's

12:00 | flips there's you know

12:08 | the writers are really dedicated to that

12:10 | they really love to there's this thing

12:13 | they love to do which is set up like a

12:15 | cliffhanger at the end of every episode

12:17 | which is I know our audience loves it

12:19 | that we love it we love doing it it's so

12:21 | fun for us and yeah I love that they

12:26 | kind of keep the writers keep coming up

12:28 | with different kinds of twists and turns

12:30 | that it's not the same like gotcha it's

12:32 | not that every time there's there's even

12:35 | if you think you're gonna know how it's

12:36 | gonna end there they're gonna switch it

12:39 | on you

12:43 | it's always funny because I'm on the

12:44 | show but I'm also such a fan of the show

12:46 | I think of myself as like an audience

12:47 | member so as an audience member as

12:49 | someone who loves the show and I will

12:53 | love this season I will love watching

12:55 | this season

12:58 | the fact that little kids and parents

13:01 | and grandparents watch the show together

13:03 | is so amazing and so special to us I

13:07 | feel like more people that stopped me on

13:09 | the street or stopped us on the street

13:10 | say that that they watch it with their

13:12 | kids or their whoever they're from from

13:14 | age this to that like there's no it

13:16 | seems like everybody watches it and

13:19 | parents say it's so nice to have

13:21 | something that they can watch with their

13:22 | kids and I know when I think back to my

13:24 | childhood this shows that I watched with

13:26 | my parents that is those are special

13:28 | memories to me and those are special

13:29 | shows to me and then the idea that

13:31 | people do that with this show is awesome

13:36 | the thing about this show is that it is

13:40 | a philosophy lesson a moral lesson

13:43 | wrapped in a fart joke and that is like

13:47 | the the like about the show is that you

13:49 | are learning something while you're

13:51 | laughing and you're not you don't feel

13:53 | chalkboard like doing homework even

13:55 | though when you're done you're probably

13:57 | gonna have a conversation with somebody

13:58 | about like what it means to be a good

14:00 | person and and it those are the themes

14:02 | that keep coming up

14:05 | it is the final season of the good place

14:08 | which is both sort of heartbreaking and

14:11 | exciting I've always been a fan of shows

14:14 | that kind of like go out on a high note

14:17 | or go out on top and don't overstay

14:19 | their welcome even though as a fan it

14:21 | can be very painful but I you know if

14:23 | you're watching your favorite show

14:24 | seasons and seasons and seasons go by

14:26 | and all of a sudden you're kind of like

14:27 | hmm Am I am i over it are they over it

14:30 | are the writers over it there is

14:32 | something I really like respect about

14:34 | make sure and our writers deciding this

14:37 | is the final season although it makes me

14:39 | very sad that's just the truth but they

14:45 | have a story to tell in there they know

14:47 | the beginning middle and end and I you

14:48 | know can't fault them for that at all

14:50 | that's to me that's very respectable

14:56 | so this has been the best job of my life

14:59 | I have learned so much and made such

15:05 | good friends I mean saying good friends

15:07 | almost feels like not enough like you

15:08 | truly do become family with your crew

15:11 | and your cast when you when you work

15:13 | together so so much for so long and

15:15 | doing something that means so much to I

15:20 | this is like a lifetime the these

15:24 | relationships that I've made on the show

15:26 | will they're not done after after we're

15:28 | done uh it's sad it's sad

15:35 | it's so exciting that the good police

15:37 | received a hundred percent on Rotten

15:39 | Tomatoes that means what not one rotten

15:41 | tomato that's cool that's really

15:43 | exciting not one single rotten tomato

15:50 | it's hard to like really understand the

15:53 | way the show you're on affects people

15:55 | you kind of see it on Twitter and you

15:56 | kind of see it when people come up to

15:57 | you a big way that we've seen it is like

15:59 | at comic-con when people are you know

16:02 | they're they wait out in line overnight

16:04 | or a weird specific way that we knew the

16:08 | show is affecting people is on Halloween

16:10 | a lot of people dress like us which is

16:13 | something that is so strange and surreal

16:16 | and I remember after one Halloween my

16:18 | mom said to me in my wildest dreams for

16:21 | your career I never imagined people

16:23 | would dress like you for Halloween I

16:24 | wish I was like yeah you would never

16:26 | that's not something you would sort of

16:27 | aspire to but it's such a cool way of

16:29 | people saying like we like this weird

16:32 | show enough to you know make the costume

16:34 | because this is not sold at Macy's

16:36 | people you got to make it

16:42 | last season Eleanor GD rediscovered

16:47 | their love for each other they found out

16:49 | the secret to the universe in a very

16:51 | conscious way they know that they were

16:54 | in the bad place and that the the game

16:57 | is somewhat rigged and in order to to

17:03 | save humanity we have to sort of

17:05 | basically run an experiment with with

17:09 | new humans and in order for for me to do

17:13 | that well one of the humans that they

17:15 | choose is Simone who was my love

17:16 | interest on earth and in order for me to

17:20 | teach them ethics and help them improve

17:22 | in the afterlife I have to have my

17:24 | memory erased so I don't give up the

17:27 | secrets of where we're at and sort of

17:30 | doom everyone and condemn the experiment

17:35 | this is gonna be very different I mean

17:38 | as every season has been from the

17:41 | previous one its but it's we aren't

17:46 | necessarily together you know we start

17:49 | out in in very different places you know

17:52 | GT has no memory of his friends and so

17:55 | that's gonna that's gonna make for some

17:58 | very interesting storytelling

18:02 | now that we are back in very solidly the

18:07 | afterlife we're in the good place again

18:11 | I'm I'm really happy for people to see

18:14 | some of those really zany magical

18:16 | elements that we've had before sort of

18:19 | come back in here and there you know

18:22 | because last season we spent a lot of

18:23 | time on earth with you know some little

18:25 | things here and there but now we're back

18:28 | in a world where anything goes and it

18:30 | does and so I'm really I'm really

18:32 | excited for you'll to see that again

18:36 | I really like just going on the ride

18:39 | with the audience you know unless

18:42 | there's something that is germane to my

18:45 | character that I need to know about

18:46 | later on that's gonna influence things

18:48 | earlier on in the season I kind of like

18:51 | to just go in blind and let it surprise

18:53 | me and it's you know it's just like it's

18:56 | a little more fun to just read these

18:58 | things for the first time and sort of be

19:00 | like gasping and you know the fine like

19:03 | like I was watching the show

19:08 | the show is it's an optimistic satire

19:14 | with bite and so I think that if you

19:18 | need something to lift your spirits

19:21 | you've got that if you need something to

19:23 | to watch and commiserate and with the

19:28 | misery of the world and feel like

19:30 | someone else is seeing it you have that

19:32 | but you know it's all in one place and

19:34 | it's you know we also have a lot of a

19:37 | lot of really smart snarky writers that

19:39 | are able to take some really like

19:41 | incisive shots at things that aren't

19:45 | plaguing our society without it being

19:47 | preachy and so I think that you know

19:50 | it's it's a really comforting thing but

19:53 | it's not just candy you know

19:58 | everyone's great everyone's great this

20:00 | is I mean this is one of those jobs

20:01 | where we all know we're spoiled that the

20:06 | cast of the crew everyone is is nice

20:08 | profession hole really really good at

20:11 | their jobs and you know it's it's just

20:13 | nice to be able to trust everything and

20:16 | everyone around you that you know we're

20:19 | all in the we all wanted we all want to

20:21 | make a good thing and we're all happy to

20:23 | be here we all really really enjoy each

20:25 | other and so yeah it's it's great

20:32 | you know it's good to be ending a show

20:33 | on our own terms

20:35 | telling the story one tell and letting

20:38 | it stay relevant and not letting it just

20:40 | sort of tease out into something that is

20:43 | just sort of there

20:48 | it's been great I mean like this is like

20:51 | the biggest job I've ever had to date

20:54 | and it is it couldn't be with a better

20:57 | group of people I feel like I've been

21:02 | sort of co-opted into this like nest you

21:07 | know for our little baby birds to be

21:09 | nourished you know and so it's it's a

21:11 | you know it's really great it's just

21:13 | it's like a really warm friendly place

21:15 | to be and I'm just gonna miss you know

21:17 | coming to work with these people every

21:19 | day you know

21:24 | who are really interested in having a

21:27 | show challenge them as much as make them

21:30 | laugh you know unfortunately this is

21:32 | this is one of those shows that I think

21:34 | that you know you don't put it on the

21:36 | background you you pay attention and and

21:38 | go on the journey with us

21:40 | and so it's a it's it's it feels good to

21:43 | be a part of something that I think

21:44 | everyone feels ready for

21:50 | it's it's wild I guess I don't really

21:52 | think about it you know as a cultural

21:54 | phenomenon I just sort of think like

21:56 | we're trying to we're trying to make a

21:57 | good show I'm trying to be honest and

21:59 | trying to deal as plainly with our

22:01 | audience as we can so it's you know that

22:04 | blows my mind - you know I never thought

22:07 | I would have a job at all let alone like

22:11 | a job that actually seems to have worked

22:12 | his way into the zeitgeist in some way

22:14 | and so that's that's nuts

22:20 | we can we're gonna take it's for some of

22:23 | the characters gonna take a closer look

22:25 | at their kind of where that came from a

22:28 | little bit and kind of specific

22:31 | happenings of their life a little more

22:32 | even more the season for some characters

22:35 | there's I think we're gonna get to know

22:38 | some new characters that were introduced

22:41 | to us last season a bit more and and and

22:46 | and kind of see them interacting with

22:49 | characters that they haven't interacted

22:51 | with

22:56 | I think this season were continuing on

23:00 | the path of like of pulling in the

23:05 | heartstrings you know really getting

23:07 | into I mean it's still you know it's

23:09 | still a comedy we're still gonna be

23:10 | pulling the jokes but you know I think

23:12 | we're really going for you know a deeper

23:17 | kind of heartfelt impact hopefully by

23:19 | the end of this this season

23:24 | the effects you know is crazier than

23:27 | ever I constantly feel like I'm in the

23:30 | Marvel movie which is a great thing but

23:35 | yeah it's a just another weird and crazy

23:39 | ride

23:44 | you don't know what's gonna happen next

23:45 | and when you think everything is good

23:49 | there's something that you know twists

23:53 | you and makes you look twice and kind of

23:56 | asked once kind of it forces the

24:00 | audience to ask for more

24:05 | kind of back in the good place in a

24:07 | sense a good place so we're not really

24:11 | bound by you know the real realistic

24:13 | boundaries of being on earth so you

24:17 | never know what its gonna come up by the

24:18 | end of that episode

24:22 | I think it appeals to all sorts of ages

24:26 | I know my character of people so a lot

24:27 | of kids a lot of five-year-olds think

24:31 | I'm dope which is great and yeah I think

24:36 | it's just bottom line just a feel-good

24:39 | comedy I mean and it's definitely one

24:41 | that not forces you but it lets you

24:46 | become attached to the characters I know

24:48 | there's I'm not pointing fingers or

24:51 | necessarily seeing our show is unique

24:53 | but sometimes a comedic show can just be

24:56 | purely about the jokes and and just

25:00 | trying to pull those punchlines but I

25:01 | find with a lot of mic stuff whether it

25:04 | be you know in Parks and Rec or or the

25:06 | office it's you really gets into the

25:09 | relationships and and he digs deeper

25:11 | than just the superficial joke

25:17 | I'm just always happy when people get

25:20 | you know laughs out of our show you know

25:22 | and and there definitely been a lot of

25:24 | moments where I've laughed out loud

25:26 | either reading the script or running

25:27 | through the scenes so for me like I'm

25:30 | just looking forward to people enjoying

25:32 | another season of us being out there and

25:35 | being goofy and weird and crazy yeah

25:39 | that's kind of the bottom line for me

25:41 | yeah

25:45 | I'm just trying to come up with

25:48 | something yeah it'd be nice like like a

25:52 | yearbook almost you know or some sort of

25:55 | collection of photos that we can look

25:56 | back on with this experience it's always

25:59 | special to be able to do that you know

26:01 | 10 years down the road when Ted has

26:03 | forgotten me and you know I have this

26:05 | proof that you know we work together so
